The price of Ferrari is currently weighed as one that can purchase a Bombardier jet that cost around $78 to $81 million dollars.
For decades, Rolls Royce, has been leading the world’s most expensive car. But little is known of Ferrari 125 Sport which has subtly teared down Rolls Royce rank, toppling the next world’s most expensive car that is capable of even buying a Bombardier jet that cost nearly half of the total cost of Ferrari 125 Sport.
Ferrari 125 Sport is a historic car that marked the beginning of Ferrari’s legacy in racing, while the Rolls-Royce Droptail La Rose Noire is a modern masterpiece of automotive engineering and design.
In Feb 2024, the Rolls-Royce Droptail La Rose Noire, which is estimated to cost around $30 million, was ranked the most expensive car in the world by Forbes India. The car, which features a removable hardtop made from carbon fiber and electrochromic glass, an intricate parquetry design, and a matching Champagne Chest is designed to showcase the clients’ exclusive vintage.
The creation of the car involved a meticulous exterior paint process that underwent 150 iterations to achieve perfection, exemplifying Rolls-Royce’s pursuit of excellence. The car’s attention to detail is unparalleled, with the exterior paint changing color according to how it is viewed, and in the right light also exuding a dark shade of red.
Moreover, Ferrari 125 S is a significant car in the history of Ferrari, as it was the first car to bear the Ferrari name and the first Ferrari to win a race. The car was powered by a Ferrari-designed and built engine, the Colombo V12, which would go on to serve in numerous Ferraris right up until 1988. The car had a 1.5-litre V12 engine, with each cylinder having a 125cc capacity, and was designed by Gioachino Colombo, who had previously worked on Alfa Romeo’s impressive V12 engines.
With only two of its kind ever produced, The 125 S is a lightweight and elegant car, with a focus on performance and speed. It had a 7.5:1 compression ratio and triple Weber 30DCF carbs, which helped it deliver its peak power at a stratospheric 6,800rpm. The car’s five-speed gearbox is also a novelty for the time, as it better exploited the torque curve of the rev-hungry engine.
In all, the catchphrase is that Ferrari cost nearly $100 million, tearing down the throne of Rolls-Royce Droptail La Rose Noire which is sold at the price worth $30 million and was named the most expensive car in the world.
