Kendrick Lamar’s lightning-fast response to Drake’s diss track sets a new standard in hip-hop history, shattering records and leaving fans in awe.
Hip-hop artists in America have a rich history of engaging in diss tracks, which are songs specifically created to verbally attack other artists. These diss tracks often serve as a platform for artists to express their grievances, assert dominance, and engage in lyrical battles within the genre. Recently Fans can’t help but notice the ongoing beef between Two of Hiphop’s big 3, Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
The saga between these two icons began in 2013, simmering on and off until it erupted once again on March 22, 2024. Kendrick Lamar reignited the flames with direct shots at Drake and J. Cole on the track “Like That,” featured on Future and Metro Boomin’s album “We Don’t Trust You.”
Drake wasted no time in firing back, delivering a swift response during a concert in Sunrise, Florida, just two days later. What followed was a flurry of diss tracks exchanged between the two artists, each one more intense than the last.
In a move that stunned fans and shattered records, Kendrick dropped “Euphoria,” a 19-minute onslaught aimed squarely at Drake. Not to be outdone, Drake retaliated with “Family Matters,” but Kendrick’s response, “Meet the Graham,” came a mere 15 minutes later, leaving fans in awe of his lightning-fast comeback.
They went wild with the speed of the comeback and took to the internet to give different memes on how Drake and his ghostwriters felt 15 minutes later when they heard Kendrick had sent a reply to their diss track.
This is comparable to shattering the record for the most comebacks in hip-hop history, as most artists wait days or even months to respond to diss tracks that their rivals have released. It’s quite amazing and surprising that it beats Rick Ross’s record for the quickest reaction to a diss tune.
Drake released a diss track “Push Ups” that called out various rappers including Rick Ross. This prompted Rick Ross to unfollow Drake on social media and responded with a diss track called “Champagne Moments” in just 2 hours.
Kendrick Lamar will undoubtedly be listed in the Guinness Book of Records if there is ever a list of celebrities who respond to diss tracks the fastest. As time goes by the open topic is; Who else will be able to beat this record?
