With his removal of Mavin Records from his bio, Rema is likely to continue to focus on his solo career and explore new opportunities in the music industry.
Rema, a Nigerian rapper, singer, and brand ambassador, has recently removed Mavin Records from his bio on Instagram. This move has sparked curiosity among fans and followers, who are trying to understand the reason behind this change. Some speculated that too much of the support that Ayra Starr, fellow Mavin Signee, gets from the label might have hinted the DND crooner to stand alone. Though, everything still rests on guesses.
On Saturday, Rema, whose original name is Divine Ikubor, had removed “Mavin/Jonzing” from his Instagram bio, sparking the curiosity of fans on X.
Rema rose to fame after being signed to Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records, in 2019. He has since released several successful projects, including his debut EP and two albums, “Rave & Roses” and “Rema Compilation.” His music style, known as Afrorave, has gained him a significant following across social media platforms.
It is possible that Rema’s removal of Mavin from its Instagram bio indicates that he is no longer associated with the label, but this is still up for debate.
He even deleted all of the posts on his Instagram page that might have anything to do with Mavin Records, leaving him with just one post.
Fans who took to Twitter to clarify the situation claim that Rema signed a five-year record label deal with Mavin when he joined the label in 2019. The five-year agreement will expire in 2024, which marks the fifth year with Mavin/Jonzing records.
Other fans conjectured that Rema’s decision was motivated by Mavin Records abandoning him in favour of Arya Starr, who was receiving all the attention.
It is unclear why Rema deleted every Instagram post that might have anything to do with Mavin, but it could be a calculated move to distance himself from the label and rebrand. Perhaps he is attempting to carve out a niche for himself and break away from the Mavin Records label.
Rema’s fans, known as Ravers, have been eagerly following his career and are excited to see what the future holds for the young artist. With his removal of Mavin Records from his bio, Rema is likely to continue to focus on his solo career and explore new opportunities in the music industry.
In the meantime, fans are eagerly waiting for any updates on Rema’s future projects and collaborations.
