The issue began when Wizkid responded to a tweet by Mavin signee Ladipoe, who seemingly ridiculed Don Jazzy for claiming that “hip hop is dead.” Wizkid dismissed any possibility of engaging with artists signed to “an influencer,” which was interpreted as a subtle jab at Don Jazzy, the founder of Mavin Records.

However, the tide has turned with Wizkid’s recent endorsement of Ayra Starr’s album. The Starboy took to his social media platforms to retweet Ayra Starr’s album announcement, expressing his support for the young talent. 

 

Wizkid posted the album cover and streaming link along with the caption, “Superstar [love and eagle emojis].”

 

This gesture has been widely celebrated by fans and industry peers alike, as it showcases Wizkid’s commitment to uplifting and supporting the next generation of Nigerian music stars.
