Sequel to the recent ‘cocktail’ wrap of the most-influential wedding ceremony (in Nigeria) between the Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Davido (David Adeleke) and his longtime girlfriend, Chioma Rowland on Tuesday, the family of Davido, acclaimed Adeleke Dynasty, has released a letter of appreciation, containing a long list of dignitaries, politicians and entertainment celebrities that attended the wedding.
Adeleke Dynasty, named after its first man, Adedeji Adeleke, a Nigerian businessman and father of Davido, released a gratitude list that extended special appreciation to all that attended the wedding ceremony of their son, among whom are: Governor Adeleke, Osun State Governor who is also the uncle of the groom, former President Olusegun Obasanjo; the former National Chairman of the PDP, Dr Iyorchia Ayu; Lagos State Governor and his wife, Mr and Mrs Sanwo-Olu; Ogun State Governor and his wife, Mr and Mrs Abiodun; Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti; Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State; the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Mrs. Chinyere Ekomaru; the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Bayo Lawal; the former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu; and Oyo State Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.”
Also, the list goes on with Senator Sanusi Daggash; Mr. Seyi Tinubu, son of the Nigeria President, Bola Tinubu; Mrs. Abike Dabiri; Senator Daisy Danjuma; Senator Yinka Olujinmi; Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe; Senator Osita Izunaso; His Royal Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Gandi Adeoye; the Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun; the Timi of Edeland, Oba Munir Adesola Lawal; Oba Saheed Ademola, Elegushi of Ikateland among others.
Entertainment celebrities who attended the glamorous ceremony too were numerous. Some of them are Olamide, Don Jazzy, Mr P, also known as Rudeboy, Fire Boy, Sydney, Iyabo Ọjọ, Very Dark Man, Cubana Chief Priest, Obi Cubana, Israel DMW, Zlatan, among others. Even King Dr Sunny Ade was among the artistes who performed at the ceremony. Meanwhile, there is a long list of entertainment celebrities who shunned the wedding ceremony and chose to not attend.
Although it was not known whether Davido did not invite them, the following list is among the long list of notable celebrities who did not make it to the wedding ceremony. Their absences are currently among the topical issues, generating serious controversy on social media. While some of the listed celebrities have previously received Davido’s favour in one way or the other, some are members of his musical league—it became a surprising thing to see that most of them shun the wedding ceremony of their colleague and possibly ‘benefactor’.
