Holiday Essentials for Beauty

It’s almost time for the holidays, and you’re already excited to get away. You may picture yourself going on an expedition with your feet in the sea, enjoying the sun and a well-deserved break, a beverage in hand and sunglasses on. Your bag is sitting in the corner of the bedroom, almost ready and waiting for you. But, wait! Are you sure you didn’t forget anything? Take a look at our checklist to ensure you’ve covered everything.

Imagine aromatic scents reminiscent of summertime… Coconut oil or sun cream scented with delicate flowers like tiare or ylang-ylang. All day long, you’ll smell like new with these! And while strong fragrances can be overpowering, try spritzing on some flower water or a summer version of your favorite fragrance before bed. Avoid getting it directly on your skin if you’re allergic or have a sensitivity to it. We recommend? Select portable sprays that you can tuck into your purse or bring on a flight.

Lock protection is something we tend to overlook. The heat, salt water, and chlorine aren’t the only things our hair has to endure. Use a good shampoo to maintain your mane in good condition. A hair oil that blocks the sun’s UV rays is another option to consider.

To maintain the integrity of your protective hydrolipidic film, shower with a soap that is pH neutral after you return to base. Try using a shower oil instead. You’ll wake up with soft, comfortable skin after using it because it hydrates and calms. And if you find that sweat, sun lotion, or salt has built up on your skin, a light scrape can remove all the buildup and leaving your skin feeling smooth and clean.

Applying excessive amounts of slap will not enhance your beautiful tan. If you live in a hot area or near the sun, you should not use a creamy foundation. Blusher in a subtle shade of pink or orange will give your cheeks a dewy, all-day glow!

Sunscreen is an absolute must-have, regardless of whether you’re going on a weekend getaway or a monthlong vacation. We can only tan safely if we apply sunscreen. Lotions, oils, creams, SPF, etc. Pick the one that works best with your skin tone; the options are there: Use an SPF of 50 if your complexion is fair, and an SPF of 15 to 30 if your skin is darker. Sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours, especially after swimming, to protect skin from sunburn.

All-purpose BB creams are perfect for vacations! A BB cream with an SPF will do double duty: shield your face from the sun’s rays while also evening out your skin tone and making it look matte. From dawn ’til sunset, your skin will glow!

A brief spritz will help quench dry skin. Radiance and rapid cooling are benefits of fresh, relaxing thermal water. As an added bonus, it soothes irritated skin and red spots. For skin parched from exposure to salty ocean water, thermal water is a godsend.

After being out in the sun for a while, our skin will require some TLC. When we’re out in hot weather, our skin loses water and becomes dry from the sun’s rays. After a day of sun exposure, our skin becomes more supple, has better cell regeneration, and a healthy bronzed shine thanks to after-sun oils, lotions, and creams.

Sunscreens, waterproof makeup, and moisturisers that you’ve applied all day long can be removed with a good cleansing. To avoid clogging your pores with excess oil, choose lightweight textures like micellar water or a gel. Because your skin is already vulnerable from the sun, sea, and chlorine, you should not rinse it with tap water.

Try a mattifying treatment instead of your regular day cream; it will control sebum production and make your skin look dewy instead of shiny. A lifesaver for the skin when the temperature soars! Plus, use a clay-based purifying mask on your face at least twice weekly.
