“Samantha Morton has an amazing range as a captivating storyteller. Anna Higgs, chair of BAFTA’s cinema Committee, said in a statement, “She has made an extraordinary impact on the British film industry – consistently shining a light on complex characters and championing underrepresented stories.”
She consistently strives, both on and off screen, to dismantle social barriers and improve the composition of the film industry, frequently in the face of overwhelming adversity. Samantha’s versatility, talent, and love for the acting trade have earned her great respect from her peers in both Hollywood and Britain.”
Receiving the honor, Morton expressed her gratitude and humility.
Britain’s highest film honors, the BAFTA Film Awards, will be presented in London on February 18.
With 13 nominations, historical drama “Oppenheimer,” one of the highest-grossing films of the previous year, is in the lead.
